Complaints

It is in everyone’s interest that concerns, and complaints are resolved at the earliest possible stage. Many issues can be resolved informally, without the need to use the formal stages of the complaint’s procedure.

A concern can be made in person, in writing or by telephone and in most cases the class teacher will receive the first approach.  If the concern is not handled to the satisfaction of the person who has raised the issue, then the Headteacher can be contacted.

It is to be hoped that most concerns can be expressed and resolved on an informal basis. Where informal attempts have been unsuccessful in resolving a complaint, the complaint will be handled in accordance with the Ridgeway Education Trust (RET) Complaints Procedure.

The RET Complaints Procedure can be found here. A paper copy can be provided on request, please ask at the school office or email: office@hagbourne.school

Complaints can be made in person, in writing or by telephone by contacting the RET Governance Team, either by email: governance@ridgewayeducation.com or by telephone: 01235 814444.

Should you wish to use our complaints form, please download a copy by clicking here and return the completed form to the RET Governance Team at governance@ridgewayeducation.com.

Parentkind, working with the DfE and Ofsted, has published guidance to help parents raise concerns calmly, constructively and at the right level. We encourage all parents to read this guidance alongside our Complaints Procedure, as it explains how to decide whether an issue is feedback, a concern or a complaint, who to speak to first and how to set out concerns clearly in your own words.
